Before you travel with Ambassador Cruises
Before you set sail on your Ambassador Cruises ship, it's important you know everything you need to do before you depart. Below we have gathered some useful information for you to read ahead of your trip to ensure a stress-free cruise holiday.
By downloading the Ambassador app you'll be able to check-in online, make reservations onboard for speciality dining, excursions and shows as well as keep up to date with what's happening on board your ship whilst onboard. Click here to find out how to download the app now
Ambassador is a ticketless cruise line, within 90 days of departure (but no later than 24 hours before sailing), all guests are required to submit their API (Advance Passenger Information) via the Ambassador website or app.
Once this is done, you will be able to log in to ‘My Ambassador Sailing’ to check in online and to download your boarding pass and final documentation once online check in opens, 72 hours prior to sailing.
Passports are required for travel. Please check that your passport has at least 6 months validity from the return date of your trip. Proof of residency will be required for non UK Passport Holders. There are also new passport validity requirements for travelling to any EU destinations. You can use this handy passport checker on the Gov.uk website here.
Have you sorted out your travel insurance yet? Ambassador cruise line requires passengers to have comprehensive travel insurance that includes specific cruise cover. Failure to obtain appropriate insurance will result in you being denied boarding by the cruise line. The details, pricing, and pre-booking information for the destination experiences will be shared with you as your sailing date approaches. You will also be able to book once onboard with Ambassador's Destination Experiences Team.
Ambassador Cruise Line operates an automatic service charge and gratuity system. An amount of £7 per person per night (£6pppn on cruises of 16 nights or more) - will be automatically added to your onboard account. For children aged 12-17 years of age, where applicable on a multi-generational sailing, an amount of £4 per person per night will be automatically added to your onboard account.
If you purchase an Ambassador Drinks Package, gratuities are also included. However, please note that the gratuity contribution cannot be removed from any of the packages.
